1. Placement & Airflow

• We want your display to stay fresh for as long as possible, so we always do our best to place your pumpkins in a shaded location. 

• To prevent rot, we avoid placing pumpkins directly on wet surfaces or grass. Instead, we style them on hay bales or custom cardboard cutouts to allow proper airflow underneath and help safeguard your porch surfaces.

2. We clean before we style​

• We spray our pumpkins with a mild bleach solution to kill surface bacteria and mold spores.

• We let them dry completely before placing.

3. If you are carving any of the pumpkins don't carve them until the last minute. ​

• Uncarved pumpkins can last 5-7 weeks, while carved pumpkins may only last 3–7 days, especially in warm climates.

4. Watch for Rot​

• Regularly check for soft spots, mold, or signs of rot.

• If one pumpkin starts going bad, remove it ASAP to protect the others.

5. Elevate for Airflow​

• Elevating pumpkins slightly allows air to circulate underneath, reducing moisture buildup and rot.

6. Do pumpkins stain porches? 

• They can. Pumpkins are natural products that release moisture as they age, which may leave marks on concrete, wood, painted surfaces, and other porch materials. We use surface-safe installation practices, but we cannot guarantee zero staining or surface damage.

• To safeguard your property, we place custom cardboard cutouts underneath your display anywhere the pumpkins touch your porch surfaces. By booking any package, you acknowledge and accept the risk of potential surface staining. For full details, please review our Terms & Conditions.

7. How long do pumpkins last? 

• In Houston's climate, you can expect your display to look great for 5–7 weeks when placed on a covered or semi-covered porch. Direct sun and rain accelerate decomposition. We select hardy varieties and install protection mats, but pumpkins are natural products and will eventually soften. If significant rot occurs within 10 days of installation, we'll replace up to 3 pumpkins at no charge.

8. What if my pumpkins get stolen or damaged by weather? 

• We can't control Texas weather or porch pirates, unfortunately. Once installed, the display is in your care. Replacement pumpkins may be available for purchase depending on inventory. We recommend a covered or semi-covered porch for best results.
